This Privacy Policy explains how the Namaz Vakitleri: Sesli Kuran (Prayer Times) app collects, processes and protects personal data, in line with Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK).

Data We Process and Why

2.1 Location (GPS)

Your device's location is used to show prayer times, the qibla direction and nearby mosques. Your current location is read when you open the qibla and mosque screens. When “Follow My Location” is on (the default), the app checks your location each time it opens; if you have moved to another city, prayer times are updated for it and the city is saved only on your phone. Your location is not read while the app is closed. Location data is processed only in the moment; it is never sent to or stored on our servers. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.

Legal basis: location data is processed with the location permission you grant on your device (explicit consent) and to provide the service you request. If you do not grant it, you can keep using the app by choosing your city manually.

2.2 Identity Information

The app does not ask you to create an account and collects no identity information. No email address, name, phone number or similar data is processed.

2.3 Worship Records

Missed prayer counts, Quran completion, tasbih counters and charity records are stored only on your device. They are never sent to a server and cannot be seen by anyone, including the developer. The developer does not back up this data; however, if your phone's own backup (iCloud or Google backup) is on, it may include this data like that of any other app, so your records move with the backup when you change phones. A backup file you create with My Profile > “Back Up” goes only where you choose; the app never sends it to any server.

Settings > My Data > “Delete All My Data”, or deleting the app, permanently removes this data from your phone.

2.4 Notifications

Notification permission is requested for prayer time and special day notifications. This happens entirely on your device; no personal data is sent to a server.

2.5 Usage Data

No usage statistics, analytics or crash reports are collected. The app contains no advertising or tracking.

Data Transfers

Your personal data is not sold and is not shared with any third party for marketing, advertising or profiling. The app has no server that stores user data.

For some features the app downloads content from external sources. No identity information is sent in these requests, but as with any internet request your IP address is visible to the server. Some of these servers are outside Turkey. When you open the mosque map, your approximate location is also sent to find nearby mosques. These transfers happen only when you use the relevant feature, at your request and only to serve that request; the app sends nothing else to these servers:

Prayer times, qibla, tasbih, missed prayer tracking, duas and notifications need no internet; they are calculated entirely on your device. Fonts are bundled with the app and not downloaded.

Your Rights

Under KVKK Article 11 you have the right to:

  • Learn whether your personal data is processed
  • Request information if it has been processed
  • Request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data
  • Request deletion under the conditions of KVKK Article 7
  • Request that third parties be notified of such actions
  • Object to an outcome against you resulting solely from automated analysis
  • Claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. The current version is always published on this page of the app and at the privacy link in the store listing; the date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
