The Service
Prayer Times is a mobile app offering Islamic worship tools such as prayer times, the qibla direction, tasbih, duas, and missed prayer and Quran completion tracking. All features are free; the app contains no in-app purchases, subscriptions or advertising. Some religious texts (duas, hadiths and the Islamic guide) are currently available in Turkish only. The English Quran translation is Saheeh International.
Use of the App
- You may use the app only for lawful purposes and in line with these terms.
- You may not reverse engineer the app, extract its source code or create copies of it.
- You may not act in ways that prevent other users from benefiting from the app.
Intellectual Property
The app's design, code and its own texts (duas, Islamic guide, guide explanations) belong to the developer. The following content belongs to third parties and is used under their terms:
- Arabic text of the Holy Quran, translations and transliteration: Tanzil Project (tanzil.net). Translations are copyrighted by their translators and publishers and are provided for non-commercial use only.
- Transliteration: by Muhammet Abay (Tanzil Project). The dotted and macron letters of the academic transliteration are shown in plain Turkish letters for readability; words and syllables are left unchanged.
- Hadiths: texts, references and grades are taken unchanged from the Encyclopedia of Translated Prophetic Hadiths (HadeethEnc.com); Turkish version 1.71.0, English version 1.25.0.
- Verse audio: recitation by Mishary Rashid Alafasy, Islamic Network (cdn.islamic.network); recording rights belong to the reciter.
- Map: © OpenStreetMap contributors.
- Fonts: SIL Open Font License 1.1.
You may personally share verses, hadiths, duas and prayer times with the Share button in the app. To copy the app's content in bulk and publish it elsewhere, or to use it commercially, you need permission from the relevant rights holder.
Religious Content, Prayer Times and Liability
Religious content: the religious explanations in the app (Islamic guide, disliked prayer times, duas, hadiths, prayer guide) are for general information and follow the Hanafi school; they are not a fatwa. For a definitive ruling on your own situation, consult a qualified religious scholar.
Prayer times and notifications: prayer times are calculated astronomically and may differ by a few minutes from official calendars depending on the method and location you choose. Notifications depend on your phone's operating system; battery saving, silent mode or permission settings may delay them or stop them entirely. For sensitive times such as suhoor and iftar, do not rely on notifications alone; check the time in the app.
Calculations: zakat, fitra, fidya and missed prayer calculations are estimates. Gold prices and exchange rates come from external sources and may not be current.
The app is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, the developer cannot be held liable for service interruptions, data loss or indirect damages arising from the use of the app. Liability for intent and gross negligence is reserved.
Changes and Termination
The developer reserves the right to change, suspend or discontinue the app without prior notice. As the app is free, there is no refund obligation in case of termination.
App Stores
If you downloaded the app from the App Store or Google Play, that store's terms also apply. These terms are between you and the developer; Apple and Google are not parties to them and are not responsible for the app's content, maintenance or support.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by Turkish law. Istanbul Courts and Enforcement Offices have jurisdiction over disputes. Consumer Arbitration Committees and Consumer Courts also have jurisdiction for consumer disputes.
